Blog Tour, Books for Adults, Classics, Fiction, Longer Novels / Thursday, May 14th, 2020

I have a specific spot on my bookshelf for the beautiful books, do you? Beautiful hardbacks, much loved classics, illustrated, maybe a couple with gilt edges? Well, I can tell you now, that this edition of The Adventures of Pinocchio, written by Carlo Collodi, illustrated and designed by Minalima and published by Harper Design is right up there on my shelf of bookish love. Welcome to my stop on the launch of this rather gorgeous book.

I’ll make a confession here, I’ve never actually read the complete story of Pinocchio until now. I watched the Disney film many times, but the book was something that I just never picked up. But when a book is as beautifully presented, as interestingly put together as this, along with the very original story it’s a no brainer, and I loved it.

This edition is completely unique, Harper Design, along with design and illustration team Minalima are releasing classics with this style, including Alice in Wonderland and The Jungle Book, and I’ve never seen anything like them. Within the pages the story is brought to life with interactive elements that are so beautifully put together and are utterly charming. We begin with a moveable Pinocchio, his nose even pulls out!! it’s fantastic. Watch this exclusive sneak peak video below to see him in glorious action!

Not only do we have a fabulous moving Pinocchio inside this book, but also a big fold out fish, pop-up theatre and so much more. Not only this, but the original text is illustrated throughout with the most wonderfully unique, bright and bold artwork. There’s no way any child could get bored with a story as whimsical and unique as this, but with the additional wholly whimsical elements to this edition, it’s even more engaging for anyone of any age who reads this. The next video treat I have for you shows the development of the illustrations, you can see the fab style and colour at play right here.

Who is this book for? Well everyone! With its gorgeous thick hardback gold embossed cover it screams quality which adults will appreciate. Interactive elements and bold illustration gives something to appeal to all ages, but in particular children, they will love anticipating each and every page turn and this will become a book they will never forget.

The Adventures of Pinocchio, and really, specifically, this edition is a treasure, the perfect gift, a book for keeps, a book to enrich children’s reading pleasure, and to delight for years. A not insignificant book purchase, but one that will be enjoyed and remembered for many many years.

Pinocchio is available for purchase now from all good bookshops. You can even make it even more special and get your very own signed copy direct from Minalima for £25.
